The Luminox P-38 LIGHTNING XA.9521 is a 42mm Swiss Made pilot watch from the 9520 Series, featuring a black dial and a 316L stainless steel case measuring 14mm in height. A fixed bezel surrounds the sapphire crystal, which has an anti-reflective coating, while the screw-in case back and screw-in crown contribute to the watch's 100-metre water resistance. The design takes inspiration from the Lockheed P-38 LIGHTNING aircraft and incorporates a second-time-zone function for tracking another time zone.

GMT Function

The black dial displays the local time alongside a GMT function for a second time zone. The RONDA 515.24H quartz movement powers the time, date and GMT indications, with a stated battery life of approximately 50 months. The dial and hands are equipped with Luminox Light Technology, using self-powered tritium gas tubes to provide continuous illumination for up to 25 years.

316L Stainless Steel Case

The 42mm case is constructed from 316L stainless steel and has a screw-in 316L stainless steel case back. Its 14mm height provides space for the Swiss quartz movement and the water-resistant construction. A brown genuine leather strap completes the XA.9521, measuring 22mm at the lugs and secured with a 316L stainless steel buckle. The brown leather contrasts with the black dial and stainless steel case, while maintaining the aviation-inspired character of the P-38 LIGHTNING series.
